About Respite Care
Caring for a loved one at the end of life is demanding, and family caregivers need rest too. Respite Care provides up to five consecutive days of inpatient care in a Medicare-approved facility, giving primary caregivers a short, planned break while their loved one continues to receive attentive, compassionate care.
This level of care can be used periodically throughout a hospice stay, not just during a crisis, so caregivers can recharge, attend to personal matters, or simply rest. Lakewood Hospice coordinates every detail of the transfer and return, keeping patient comfort and continuity of care our top priority throughout.
